Walking Safari in Arusha National Park
Accompanied by a knowledgeable park ranger, your walking safari will follow one of several routes, chosen based on the day’s conditions and your preferred pace. Along the way, your ranger may point out fascinating details—like the deep burrows dug by aardvarks or how acacia trees communicate by releasing warning scents to nearby trees. Keep your eyes open for zebra, duiker, giraffe, and hippo, while the striking black-and-white colobus monkey is a frequent highlight. Overhead, you may spot elegant egrets and sacred ibis gliding through the sky.
Even the plant life tells its own story. You might come across the aptly named strangler fig, a tree that grows by enveloping and eventually overtaking its host. You could also encounter warthogs and buffalo, often seen together in a unique partnership—warthogs relying on their sharp eyesight and hearing, while buffalo depend on their keen sense of smell to detect danger. It’s a perfect example of nature’s quiet cooperation at work.
